David Wudyka Receives American Compensation Association's Lifetime Achievement

David J. Wudyka, founder and president of Westminster Associates, a human resources and compensation consulting firm, recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Compensation Association (ACA), now known as World at Work, combining the American Compensation Association and the Canadian Compensation Association. The award recognizes a member¹s "ongoing commitment and contribution to the compensation and benefits profession."

An ACA member for more than 20 years, Wudyka founded a local affiliate of the ACA, the Southeastern New England Compensation Association (SENECA), in 1990 and served as its president for nine years. In 1979, Wudyka was one of the first 200 professionals in the United States to be certified in the field of compensation by the ACA.

Certified by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Wudyka has been in the fields of compensation and human resource management for more than 27 years. Prior to starting Westminster Associates in 1988, he was the compensation and training and development manager at the Raytheon Company¹s former Submarine Signal Division in Portsmouth, R.I.

In addition, Wudyka serves as an adjunct instructor at two local institutions of higher education. Since 1982, he has taught numerous human resource management courses as well as the SHRM Certification Program for human resource professionals at Bryant College¹s Center for Executive Development in Smithfield, R.I. He also teaches several courses at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., including strategic management, organizational behavior, leadership and organizational development, and human resource management.

Wudyka received an MBA in Organization and Management from Syracuse University, Syracuse, N.Y., and is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island¹s College of Industrial Engineering where he received a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering.
